Yellowstone on Paramount has been following the Dutton family as they work on and protect their ranch. In the series Jamie Dutton (played by Wes Bentley) has caused a lot of division for the family. But what else has the actor been in?
What else has Wes Bentley been in?
Wes Bentley plays Jamie Dutton in Yellowstone, the son of ranch owner John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and Evelyn Dutton (Gretchen Mol).
Jamie Dutton is an attorney and has always been an uneasy member of the Dutton family, often being accepted and causing problems at the same time.
He will be back in season four, and will undoubtedly cause a new line of problems for the family, though he could prove himself to be a loyal member of the Dutton clan once more.
Actor Wes Bentley has a long and well-renowned career across both film and television.
Bentley is a regular recurring actor in the American Horror Story series, playing various characters across multiple seasons.
Some of his characters include John Lowe, Dylan, and Ambrose White; he first appeared in season four and left the show after season six.
However, the majority of Bentley’s career can be seen in film, having recently starred in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Pete’s Dragon.
His other credits include Knight of Cups, Interstellar, The Hunger Games, Johan Hex, and Ghost Rider.
Arguably, his most famous role is in 1999’s American Beauty director by Sam Mendes where he played Ricky Fitts.
He became an instantly recognisable actor after the infamous plastic bag in the wind scene, which would go on to be parodied in many other films and TV shows, including The Simpsons and Family Guy.
In Yellowstone, Bentley’s Jamie Dutton caused season three to end with a dramatic finale, leaving the Dutton family changed forever.
Bentley spoke to Entertainment Weekly following the season three finale, explaining what he feels it means for Jamie.
He said: “When I read the script, I was like, ‘Oh?!’ With Taylor [Sheridan], we’ll be on a path down one way and he’ll cut the branches on the side so we’re going to tumble down with him.”
He added: “To restart or refresh, he definitely has left himself an open door for a lot of options. I think that’s clever. He has a plan, so I think he was ahead of it.”
The details for season four remain unclear, with Paramount still having not released any teasers or trailers so far.
Season four is set to air later this year, with the show also setting up a spin-off series 6666.
Wes Bentley will return in the next season, having starred in the show since the series began in 2018.
Showrunners Taylor Sheridan and John Linson are both back overseeing season four and remain tight-lipped about the plot of the new season or Jamie Dutton’s place within it.
It is unknown whether or not the series will return for a fifth season, however as Paramount has not confirmed season four to be the last, it seems likely the show will continue after.
Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Plus and Amazon Prime Video.
