Jenny Auggeters Talks About The Call The Midwife Christmas Special<\/h3>\n

Call The Midwife star Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Turner in the show, has admitted that the fact that the children in his TV family are getting older makes this year\u2019s festive special all the more \u201cwonderful\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kids can do close ups now. They have words now they can get sarcastic now they’re wonderful,\u201d he explained to Express.co.uk and other media at a recent event to launch the upcoming series.<\/p>\n

Laura Main who plays his wife Shelagh on the show, admitted: \u201cI love the scenes in the Turner house because it’s nice to see that family\u2026you’re getting Christmas through the lens of a family, you know, and they do Christmas really well.”<\/p>\n

Dr Turner and Shelagh have four children in the show. Eldest son Timothy is grown up and followng in his father’s footsteps by studying medicine. However the three youngest Edward and adopted daughters May and Angela have grown up from babies on the show.<\/p>\n

However, now that they are older, they can be front and centre of the action.<\/p>\n

Indeed one of the storylines in the Christmas special focuses on daughter May, whose adoption has never been finalised.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s never been resolved you know,\u201d Laura explained at the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think she’s so part of the family that I think a lot of the audience think that we have adopted her already.<\/p>\n

“We [the Turners] would in a heartbeat but we haven’t been able to.<\/p>\n
