EastEnders fans ‘expose’ Christmas victim and it’s an unexpected past character

EastEnders fans are convinced they have worked out that it’s Ryan Malloy who will die this Christmas.

The festive season usually sees some big shockers in soapland, with major plots playing out.

This year is likely to be no exception, as residents of Albert Square are set to see a death as Sharon (Letitia Dean) gets married.

The dramatic plot has already been teased in a scene that saw several people staring at a mystery body in the Queen Vic.

So far there’s no word on who is getting killed off, but among all the speculation, talk has turned to Whitney's brother Ryan.

The character (played by Neil McDermott) hasn't been around for a while but came up in an episode of the BBC soap, which one Reddit user thought was probably a clue.

“I just rewatched the flash forward episode and something that stuck out to me is Stacey mentioning Ryan,” they wrote on the site.

“She talks about how he wants Lily and the baby to go to his for Xmas, how he cut her child maintenance and she wants to kill him.

“I’m now starting to think it’s him. He’s a big enough character (unlike Theo or Keanu), but not a huge villain that’s super predictable (unlike Nish or Ravi).”

Someone chimed in to agree that Ryan being the victim “makes more sense” than some of the other theories currently doing the rounds.

Another person said they hoped it wasn’t Ryan, suggesting the storyline would be better if it was a bigger character that was killed off.

However, some people thought soap bosses might go in a totally different direction, with some even wondering if it could be Walford stalwart Ian Beale.

One said: “Imo the fact that they have been teasing it since February which is actually the anniversary of the show suggests a legacy character and that's why I've always said Ian as I believe Adam Woodyatt came back to get closure."
