Love Island’s Chris Hughes takes swipe at spin-off show as he addresses return

A Love Island icon has thrown some subtle shade at the show's All Stars spin-off, firmly asserting his decision not to make a return.

Chris Hughes gained fame during his stint on the third season of the popular ITV2 dating show back in 2017 when he made his debut in the TV villa alongside Olivia Attwood.

Their endearing and comical antics managed to win over the hearts of viewers during their time together.

However, despite Love Island being the launchpad for Chris' television career, he has decisively ruled out the possibility of a return anytime soon.

When speaking with OK! Magazine, he unequivocally crushed the hopes of fans eagerly awaiting his comeback in the show's all stars series, known as The Games.

In his own words, Chris stated: "I've done Love Island, when I've done an experience I wouldn't want to do it again. It just tarnishes it. I don't feel like the experience would do anything for me now since I've been there."

During his memorable stint on Love Island, viewers witnessed Chris forming a close bromance with fellow islander Kem Cetinay.

While the dynamic duo even secured their spin-off show during their heyday, they aren't as tight-knit these days.

Chris candidly shared: “I speak to Kem every now and then." He added: "Love Island is a bit like leaving school, a lot of you just go your own way and you don't speak to certain people that often, but it's nice to stay in touch."

Now at the age of 30, Chris has transitioned away from the realm of reality TV and has become a familiar face in the world of ITV sport, frequently seen as part of their horse racing coverage.

Chris recently came under fire after the BBC deemed one of his comments directed towards a female Australian cricketer as "inappropriate."

The incident occurred during a post-match interview where Chris referred to the cricketer as a "little Barbie."

Maitlan Brown, the Australian sportswoman, had mentioned that her team, the Southern Brave, had strengthened their bonds by engaging in a practice game and enjoying a cinema outing to watch a "Barbie" movie.
