Heidi Klum: ‘I don’t count my calories’

Heidi Klum’s America’s Got Talent co-stars have leapt to her defence after the supermodel and TV presenter was accused of only eating 900 calories a day.

While Heidi herself had called the claims “a bunch of c***” Sofia Vergara and Terry Crew seem to confirm this.

“That’s not true because you come into my dressing room and eat my stuff, [like] my sandwiches and stuff,” Sofia stated in a group interview.

Terry Crews, the show’s host, then chimed in: “I believe [she eats Sofia’s food].”

This comes after Heidi shared in an Instagramstory that her day begins with a low-fat breakfast featuring three poached eggs in warm chicken broth.

Although she didn’t go into further detail, reports started circulating that the svelte mum of four adheres to a daily intake of just 900 calories in order to maintain her 138lb frame.

Heidi said that the claims are “beyond bonkers”. She said: “I just hate when people lie like that because, especially, you know, there’s so many people out there that follow or read this, and they say, ‘Oh, she does this, so now I’m only gonna eat 900 calories’.”

“When it’s about other people’s health, I feel like I have to step in and say, ‘Wait a minute.’ I don’t even care about me; I care about everyone who reads that and possibly gets way too thin.

“Because 900 calories, that’s, like, insane! I would be like a toothpick,” she exclaimed.

Her remarks followed an Instagram story rubbishing the claims, which she posted on August 22.

Sharing multiple screenshots of articles reporting her alleged 900-calorie diet and said this is entirely false.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had to count my calories in my life,” she explained.

“I don’t count my calories,” she reinforced, before going on to call out false reporting and critique lazy journalism.

Klum continued in her Instagram story: “People just write a bunch of c**p and it’s really sad because there is no real journalism anymore, people just make up stories, one person writes it and then everyone jumps on it.”

The America’s Got Talent judge ended her story with a final lament on the misreporting of her diet and calorie intake, “It’s really sad… people read that, and that’s not good.”
