Big Brother hosts address audience ‘booing’ as eviction results ‘leaked’
Big Brother UK sneak peek
Big Brother hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best have promised to “put their arm” around contestants if they are evicted to a “baying crowd” as the show gets set for its first elimination tonight.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media in advance of the show’s relaunch they were asked about the booing and negativity that often accompanied the evictions during previous runs of the show.
“I don’t think we’ll be stopping people doing anything…but I just think…are people going to want to? Because it does feel like the world has changed a bit [since the previous incarnations of Big Brother],” Will pondered.
“It’s a surreal experience,” AJ acknowledged. “They’re coming out to maybe a baying audience who received them well or not.
“But I think it’s up to me and Will to really put our arm around them and ask them some of the important questions.”

“But to make sure that we’re doing it in a way which gives them an opportunity to share their side of the story and not be mean in any way when having those conversations for sure. I’m very mindful of that,” she said.
Will agreed chiming in: “I think we’ve been a long time since the show was on, the world has changed. We moved forward.
“People are endeavouring in every industry to make people’s working experiences and lives better and that will obviously be reflected in a show like this – more so than probably any,” he reassured.
Their remarks came after fans believed the show had accidentally revealed the results of tonight’s vote in advance.
Visitors to the official app for the ITV2 and ITVX show noticed that it featured a poll on whether Farida or Kerry would be leaving the house tonight (October 13).

After voting, app users were shown the percentage of people who had picked each contestant, which many fans complained was a huge giveaway about who was being evicted.
Voting to eliminate contestants is also done through the app so it appeared that this was a hint as to who is in the running to leave the show.
Clearly, the error was quickly realised by bosses as, in what appears to be a last-minute change, the poll no longer shows the percentage of people who picked either woman.
Express.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.
Big Brother’s first eviction show is live on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
