Coronation Street cancelled as soap pulled from ITV schedule in shake-up
Stephanie Davis discusses Coronation Street theories
Coronation Street has been removed from Friday’s schedule on ITV.
Its usual air time is 8pm on Friday, but fans of the soap will have to go without the newest episode this week.
The soap will return on Monday, October 2 in its usual weekday slot, so luckily the wait won’t be too long.
Corrie has been removed from the schedule thanks to the Rugby World Cup, which will air on ITV from 7.30pm until 10.25pm.
This means viewers who also enjoy Emmerdale are in luck because the soap will air as usual at 7pm and end just before the match kicks off.

However, fans haven’t missed out because Coronation Street aired an extra episode on Tuesday.
The programme’s usual schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so the Tuesday episode makes up for Friday’s cancellation and means fans are all up to date.
However, some are still unhappy with the schedule change.
Twitter user @Boppity_Boo34 asked: “Is the rugby on again on Friday hence the Tuesday episode of Corrie? #Corrie,” to which one fan replied: “Yep it’s some s***ty sport thing.”

@a11ebx added: “Fridays don’t feel the same without a Corrie ep.”
“Yeah Corrie being on Tuesday and not Friday feels weird,” @matt_johnson_89 penned.
@MattZeeMiller fumed: “Putting Corrie against #GBBO was crazy idea! Doing the same next week as well! Could easily been 7pm Emmerdale hour Thursday then 8pm Corrie whilst #RugbyWorldCup is on Friday nights still! Seems itv damaging live linear audience more!” (sic)
The latest episode aired on Wednesday, where Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) bid a sad farewell to the Rovers Return pub as it closed its doors.
The iconic pub was boarded up and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) decided to try to brighten the mood by suggesting one last photo of the staff all together.
Coronation Street continues on Monday at 8pm on ITV.
