Dolly Parton's 'Rockstar' Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard's Top Album Sales Chart

Dolly Parton‘s Rockstar has debuted atop Billboard‘s Top Album Sales chart, earning the legend her first No. 1 on the tally.

Rockstar sold 118,500 copies in the U.S. in the week ending November 23, according to Luminate. That marks Parton’s biggest sales week for an album in the modern era.

Parton more than doubles her previous biggest week, notched in 1993, when Slow Dancing With the Moon sold 50,500 copies in its second week on the chart.

The legendary country singer-songwriter’s latest album also debuted at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart, earning her the highest-charting ever on the tally with 128,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the November 17-23 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Rockstar also marks her third Billboard 200 top 10. The other two albums are Blue Smoke (2014) and Trio (1987).

Rockstar is the 49th solo studio album by Parton, released on November 17 by Butterfly Records and Big Machine Records. The album, which is also her first rock album, is a collaborative project featuring a variety of rock musicians.
