Gogglebox Malones heartbroken as family member Dave dies as co-stars pay tribute

Gogglebox’s the Malone family have been left utterly heartbroken following the death of their family dog Dave.

On Wednesday (October 18), the Channel 4 favourites confirmed the devastating news that their furry friend had sadly passed away on Instagram. Loyal fans of the show will know the loveable Rottweiler often joined the family on the couch while sitting around the television filming the commentary show each week.

Tom Jr shared a heartbroken post dedicated to the pooch with a collection of snaps and videos of the family dog with his thousands of followers online. He wrote: “Heartbroken to let you guys know that Dave has sadly left us today… I think we can all agree that there will never be another one like him. Rest Easy Dave [heartbroken emoji, paws emoji].”

His mum Julie shared her own post which read: “RIP Dave. There are no words to describe you, or how much you meant to us.This was you on Sunday waiting for your Dad to come back and he had only gone out to the car. We are all going to miss you so much.”

Gogglebox co-star Izzi Warner wrote: “Aww rest in peace Dave. Sending you all lots of love” which she signed off with a kiss. Another added: “I’m sorry to hear that Tom [crying emoji]” as a third echoed: “So sorry for your loss [crying emoji].”

A fourth chimed in with: “Oh no so sorry for all the family and the family and he will be missed attacking Tim and barking at the animal programmes. RIP Dave the legend.” Meanwhile a fifth penned: “So very sorry run free handsome Dave sending a big hug to you all.”

Another fan wrote: "Noooooo not Dave!!!!! He was the best on Gogglebox. Heartbroken is an understatement." While someone else penned: "Dave! He gave us all a laugh and he was a beautiful doggie. So very sad for your family."

"Gutted. It's so painful when a beloved pet dies. Hoping you're all okay," someone else commented. "Can't believe this. Not me crying over a dog I've never even met," another chimed.

"Julie I am so so so so so sorry to hear this news today, it's heartbreaking truly," another fan of the Malone family commented. While someone else gushed: "You were lucky to have such a beautiful pet like Dave, just remember the good times. He wasn't just loved by your family, he was loved by the entire nation. Lots of love xx."

The Malone’s have had four Rottweiler dogs throughout their time on Gogglebox when they made their TV debut in 2014. The Rottweiler famously left Gogglebox viewers in hysterics when he knocked moody dad Tom off his chair in a burst of energy – with the clip later going viral on TikTok.

As well as appearing on the show every Friday night, Dave also regularly featured on the family's Instagram feed in hilarious vidos and was clearly a well loved member of the Malone clan. The news comes after Julie and Tom announced that their dog Lucy had died back in March 2022 just seven months after the death of their dog Izzy.
