Jenny Ryan divided over The Chase and Beat The Chasers as she admits preference

Although fans of The Chase have grown to love its spin-off, Beat The Chasers, quizzer Jenny Ryan still can’t decide which rendition she prefers.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, The Vixen star admitted that the original ITV show does appeal more to the “egotist” aspect of her and her co-stars’ personalities.

However, Jenny has also noticed that Beat The Chasers has a “very special” feel to it during filming.

She explained: “There’s a case to be made for both.

“I mean, as we’re all, sort of, egotists, we all like to enjoy recording our individual episodes of The Chase because there’s only one of us.

“But there’s something very special about all being together on Beat The Chasers, and being able to sit together as a team, and work as a team, and it’s very exciting as well because there’s a lot of money at stake.

“That countdown clock is quite scary as well,” Jenny added.

Praising the success of the spin-off rendition, the TV star revealed: “It’s a real thrill and we have some brilliant contestants on that as well, who have their moment to shine – and some of them really do!”

Jenny rose to fame on The Chase after joining the show’s team of quizzers in 2015.

Five years later, Beat The Chasers was born, allowing Jenny and her fellow quizzers to compete alongside one another, with contestants attempting to beat up to six Chasers to win big cash prizes.

The Vixen star, 41, is one of six Chasers, alongside Anne Hegerty, 65, Darragh Ennis, 43, Mark Labbett, 58, Shaun Wallace, 63, and Paul Sinha, 53, who go head to head with contestants on their general knowledge expertise.

Away from the ITV game show, Jenny is taking on a new role as the Wicked Queen in iconic pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this festive season.

Jenny teased that fans of The Chase and Beat The Chasers may recognise some elements of her character, as she will be channeling The Vixen – her persona from the hit TV series.

The Chase airs tonight at 5pm on ITV.
