She’s one of the most stylish royals in the world, but Crown Princess Mary of Denmark likely regretted the wide-brimmed hat she wore to the opening of the Danish Parliament yesterday.
Thanks to the statement headpiece, when Crown Prince Frederik’s wife, 51, and her mother-in-law Queen Margrethe II attempted to greet one another with a kiss, things went a little awry.
The royals couldn’t smoothly reach one another when at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, due to Mary’s troublesome hat getting in the way.
But Queen Margrethe quickly moved on from the slightly awkward moment and instead offered her daughter-in-law an air kiss by touching her own cheek, then Mary’s, who quickly curtsied in response.
The princess teamed her headgear from Danish brand Susanne Juul with a cream long sleeved midi dress from Mark Kenly Domino Tan and a Diane von Furstenberg leather clutch bag.
