Saturday Kitchen viewers ‘switch-off’ after fans slam Matt Tebbutt’s ‘dull’ move
Saturday Kitchen: Munya Chawawa grates cheese
Saturday Kitchen was back with a new episode and in celebration of the bank holiday weekend, host Matt Tebbutt opted to bake some cheesy garlic bread leaving viewers unimpressed.
The 49-year-old chef was joined in the BBC studio on Saturday (August 26) by chefs Karan Gokani and Poppy O’Toole, drinks expert Helen McGinn and special guest comedian Munya Chawawa in a pre-recorded episode.
Matt opted to create some tear-and-share bread that he describes as “perfect for feeding a crowd with barely any work at all”.
He went on to call his recipe the “king of over-the-top stuffed, garlicky cheese bread”.
Ready to demonstrate his “perfect” garlic bread with viewers of the BBC One show, Rick roped in Munya to give him a hand while they discussed the comedian’s upcoming tour.

Rick grabbed a sourdough loaf and sliced it carefully into little fingers before pointing to his other ingredients consisting of roasted garlic, butter, sundried tomatoes, chili, and red wine vinegar.
Munya was tasked with grating cheese for the dish and continued to hold the grater over a glass bowl to scrape the blocks of parmesan for nearly five minutes, rather than putting the grater down on the chopping board.
Meanwhile, Matt stuffed his pre-made loaf with his roasted garlic and butter concoction before loading the bread with the grated cheese.
Matt then added olive oil and black pepper to his sough dough before wrapping the bread in foil and putting it into the oven.
The TV chef then added sundried tomatoes, chili, and red wine vinegar into a blender to make a dressing.
When the garlic bread was baked, Matt appeared to struggle to get the piping hot loaf out of the foil before placing it on a chopping board and breaking it up with a knife.

A third chimed in with: “Someone tells the guest how to use a cheese grater on a board, it’s excruciating to see him grating cheese in the air! #SaturdayKitchen.
