Girls’ night out! Queen Máxima of the Netherlands stuns in a sensational shimmering gown as she steps out solo in Paris with Brigitte Macron

Queen Máxima of The Netherlands looked radiant as she arrived at a museum in Paris to open an exhibition this evening.

Joining French first lady Brigitte Macron as she stepped out at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, the Dutch royal, 52, turned heads in a showstopping gown by Iris van Herpen as she prepared to open an exhibition by the Dutch designer.

The floor-length frock featured a high neck and cape, plus embroidery and a shimmering full skirt, ensuring all eyes were on the Argentine-born royal as she stepped onto the red carpet.

Mother-of-three Máxima wore her blonde locks in a neatly-pinned but relaxed updo and opted for statement earrings with her glamorous dress.

Meanwhile Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte, 70, channelled her signature Parisian chic style in a white coat and black heels.

The event, in the French capital, saw both women step out without their partners, as neither King Willem-Alexander nor Emmanuel Macron were present at the event.

The Dutch Queen’s appearance was to mark the opening of the Sculpting the Senses exhibition at the museum, by Iris van Herpen.

As she stepped out of the car to greet the French first lady, Brigitte seemed to gesture towards Máxima’s jaw-dropping gown in acknowledgment of her style prowess.

Máxima was a vision on the high neck gown with a full pleated skirt which skimmed the floor, and wore her blonde locks in an updo

Her sensational evening look as she nipped over to France follows an appearance in Rotterdam this morning in which she incorporated festive cheer into her outfit.

Máxima wrapped up against the autumn chill in her trusty Max Mara coat, which she has worn on a number of occasions, to visit a library. 

Made from camel-coloured wool, the double-breasted Bahamas design incorporated classic notch lapels and a detachable waist belt.

The Dutch queen smiled with the French first lady and Iris van Herpen, who curated the Sculpting he senses exhibition and who was wearing a similarly striking gown 

During the evening, Máxima took centre stage as she officially opened the exhibtion 

Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer who launched her fashion brand in 2007

She was celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Het Begint met Taal (It Begins with Language) foundation, layered her outerwear over a little red dress, completing her look with a matching hat and pumps. 

The foundation helps 15,000 volunteers support and coach 28,000 non-native speakers as they learn the Dutch language and culture.

The wife of King Willem-Alexander showcased glamorous make-up, incorporating heavy eyeliner, bronzed cheekbones and a glossy, nude lip.

The Queen’s dress and accessories were also repeats. The former, first worn in 2018, featured a figure-skimming silhouette and asymmetric ruffle detailing.

She debuted her Fabienne Delvigne scarlet calot hat the same year, while the Natan pumps are featured heavily in the royal’s wardrobe.
