Beloved BBC Breakfast star's sudden disappearance from sofa explained after landing new role on major show | The Sun
SALLY Nugent's disappearance from BBC Breakfast has been explained after days off-screen.
The beloved presenter, 51, hasn't been seen on the iconic red sofa in a week now.
Jon Kay, who typically hosts with the star from Monday to Wednesday each week, has fronted the flagship show with a number of stand-in hosts.
And The Sun can reveal Sally had previously agreed with bosses to take the week off the show in order to focus on Strictly Come Dancing.
Last week she was announced in the hit BBC ballroom show's Christmas special celeb lineup.
Since landing the gig Sally has been juggling hosting BBC Breakfast as well as training with her pro partner Graziano Di Prima.

"She's been putting her all into the rehearsals with Graziano and the pair have clicked.
"With the recording of Strictly taking place at Elstree Studios in London on Tuesday night it wasn't practical for Sally to be on BBC Breakfast which is based in Manchester.
