EastEnders’ Jack Branning left emotional as Ricky makes surprising confession

EastEnders: Cindy returns to Albert Square

EastEnders’ Jack Branning (played by Scott Maslen) is touched when teen son Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) tells him he will be changing his last name to Branning.

Ricky is preparing to become a dad at 13 after he got neighbour Lily Slater (Lilia Turner) pregnant.

The baby is due any time now, and while it took Jack some time to accept the idea, he has been supportive of his son.

Ricky has always been known as a Mitchell thanks to his mum Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf).

However, after a short-lived return, Ricky was left heartbroken as she decided to leave Walford once again earlier this year.

It seems the schoolboy wants to honour his dad for bringing him up and will do so by making the sweet surname gesture.

This will also mean Lily and Ricky’s child could be either a Branning or a Slater.

Fans will be hoping things run smoothly for them but unfortunately, there is definitely some heavy drama on the cards.

Jack’s wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish) has been confirmed to be a part of the Walford six.

A special flashforward clip which aired in February showed six of the Square’s women gathered in The Vic this Christmas Day standing over a dead body.

Joining Denise are Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who all seem gobsmacked as they gather around a dead male in the pub.

While it’s currently unknown who the man is, theories have been swirling amongst fans of the BBC soap ever since.

To make matters worse for the Brannings, Denise is among the favourites for being revealed as the killer.

Experts from OLBG have revealed the most likely suspects, with Stacey the current favourite to be the killer, and Denise coming in second place.

Denise follows closely behind Stacey with a 22 percent chance of being the culprit and odds of 7/2.

EastEnders continues on Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
