Game of Thrones star Joseph Gatt appears in court after Brit actor is charged with child sex offences in LA | The Sun

GAME of Thrones actor Joseph Gatt has appeared in court after allegedly having sexually explicit conversations with a minor online.

He was arrested in April last year after cops showed up at his home with a search warrant.

The British actor, 51, appeared in an LA courtroom on Monday with his longtime girlfriend, actress Mercy Malick.

He was previously charged with "contact with a minor for sexual offence" and felony possession of an assault weapon.

He has remained free on bail since the arrest and appeared sombre as he showed up at court wearing a black shirt and brown trousers.

Judge Enrique Monguia later said the hearing would reconvene in December as prosecutors need more time for "additional discovery".

LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force first started looking into the actor after a tip about his alleged online activities.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges at the time.

Gatt, who was born in London, was released on a $5,000 bail.

He was also banned from unsupervised time with minors, possessing pornography and using social media except for work purposes.

Cops also found he had an outstanding felony warrant for a similar offence involving a minor during their investigation, KTLA reported.

Detectives then began searching for any other possible victims who the actor may have been in contact with.

Gatt denied the allegations in a social media post around the time of his arrest.

He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and completely untrue allegations recently levelled against me.

“They are 100% categorically wrong and reckless.

“I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today's press release.

“I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name."

His girlfriend, actress and writer Mercy, who he's been dating since 2009, reshared his statement online at the time.

The pair appeared together in court yesterday.

Alongside his role as Thenn Warg on Game of Thrones, Joseph also appeared on shows like Banshee, Teen Wolf and The 100.
