Heartbreaking moment Olivia Newton-Johns daughter breaks down on live TV

Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi couldn’t help but get emotional when she appeared on Australian morning show Sunrise to talk about her late mum’s legacy.

Chloe, 37, was on the show to plug her Olivia’s Walk For Wellness, which is a charity event taking place on 8 October in Melbourne.

Olivia’s Walk For Wellness will see thousands of fans take to the streets of the city to walk five kilometers in aid of those diagnosed with cancer.

“There really isn’t any greater purpose in life than to give to others, to be of service to others,” Chloe said. “I learned that from my mum from a very young age.”

She added that her mom had her “planting trees” and “taking care of animals” as a child.

“When she was diagnosed with her cancer, it was about focusing on helping other people,” Chloe, who is an actress and singer, added: “When I went through my mental illness, I focused on connecting with people who were going through similar trauma and pain. Her and I are similar in that way, and I really am grateful that she instilled that in me.”

Chloe then said that the loss of her mother was “still raw” for her as she broke down in tears live on air.

The 37 year old added that she had been suffering from memory loss since Olivia’s death and would be stepping away from the spotlight for a while after the fundraiser.

Olivia died on 8 August 2022 at the age of 73, following a 30 year on-off battle with breast cancer.

The Grease star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and was able to successfully treat it with a partial mastectomy and chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, the cancer resurfaced in 2013 as a tumour in her shoulder, and the star said in 2017 that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had spread to her back.

In 2020, the star announced that she had created the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which funded experimental treatments and trials in a bid to put an end to the illness.

The first Olivia Newton-John Walk For Wellness took place on 26 September 2021 – her 73rd birthday- as a virtual event to “help people with cancer thrive.”

Since her death, Olivia’s beloved daughter Chloe – who she was very close with – has taken over the responsibility of organising the event.

Chloe is Olivia’s only child, and her dad is American singer and dancer Matt Lattanzi.
