A MARRIED At First Sight groom has hit back after his former partner accused him of "bullying."

Manchester-based Adrian Sanderson lashed out at former partner Thomas Hartley – branding him a "cruel, unkind bully" – in an unexpected Instagram rant this weekend.

The pair starred in last year's series of the E4 hit and while they split during the process, appeared to remain friends afterwards.

But digital designer Adrian has made it clear their friendship is now over.

After the blistering verbal drubbing – and Liverpool-based Thomas' mum having her say – the Married At First Sight alumni has now spoken out.

The mental health care assistant took to his page to film a video, seated in his car.

He told followers: "Hiya everyone, trying to be serious.

"There's no teams on this, there's no nothing in this, it's over, and I'm glad it's over.

"Can everyone just get back to laughing and lets just be funny again – and let me be crazy again."

He continued: "It's one less thing to worry about to be honest, it's one less thing and do you know if you're straddling the fence or have got a negative opinion about me it's really easy not to follow me.

"You don't have to associate with me – it's not mandatory is it?

"Life is what it is and you like some people and some you don't."

Thomas, wearing a hot pink hoodie and black baseball cap, added: "I've never been anything but authentic."

He then addressed how his relationship with Adrian had ended 15 months ago.

His comments came after Adrian hit the headlines this weekend.

Pulling no punches, Adrian wrote: "It’s time to put a nail in this coffin. To finally end what has been a very tumultuous journey. Our time on MAFS was unforgettable and at times Thomas was a supportive person and we grew a love for each other through hard work, love and learning.

"But to the rest of the group I was consistently worried Tom would be perceived as unkind, in-compassionate and a bully. I tried to help him, to give him time, to understand him and he absolutely grew.

"During the tv show airing, it has been all too easy to forget all of the cruel jokes he pushed upon me. The consistent insight of hate towards me & other cast members."

Adrian added that Thomas clashed with one of his friends at their TV wedding, which was not fully shown on screen.

Adrian continued: "[Thomas] also insinuated towards my family, and he repeatedly attempted to shame my friend from the wedding. While my friend did bite back at Thomas, the edit did not show the behaviour of him or his mother. They both gave my friend every right to stand up for me. She did and I thank her for it. No matter what the edit showed, she was only concerned for my welfare."

The rant did not end there, as Adrian explained why he stuck by Thomas initially.

He concluded by claiming Thomas is "a threat to people’s mental health and well-being" and said that when he tried to talk to his former partner, he was blocked.

Initially Thomas said he wouldn't reply – but his mother Helen had a few choice words for Adrian.

The video he posted then showed Thomas's mum sat in a car with him, where she gave Adrian a piece of her mind.

Yet Adrian wasn't the only one to call out Thomas for bad behaviour, with Jess Potter accusing him of bullying during the series.

Last year, Thomas told how he was "sorry for the pain he caused" and opened up on his "regret" about his conduct.

At the time, she claimed her co-star Thomas had been “bullying her constantly.”

Meanwhile, Adrian previously revealed the one MAFS star he would never speak to – and it wasn't Thomas.

Thomas has also been working on his fitness and revealed his new figure on Instagram.
