Strictly ‘fix’ row erupts as viewers claim star’s ‘being set up’ to fail
Nikita Kanda Says Her Dance On Saturday Is Dedicated To Her Mother
Strictly Come Dancing fans are convinced the BBC dancing show is setting up one contestant “for failure”.
The dance selection for Nikita Kanda has been questioned by BBC viewers who have been wondering if the judges had it in for her.
While she and her professional partner Gorka Marquez were in the dreaded dance-off, she was saved over Les Dennis and Nancy Xu.
Nikita is set to perform the Jive to music from the film Clueless for Movie Week.
After seeing the theme reveal, fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts about Nikita’s upcoming dance.

One user theorised following the announcement: “They want Nikita and Gorka GONE”.
Ryan added: “I feel like Nikita is being set up for a fall. Two difficult routines for the first two weeks and a horrible song choice for the Charleston.
“I hope she gets through. She isn’t the worst dancer and she shows so much potential. Gorka is a great pro for her.”
Another user said: “Poor Nikita – a jive isn’t what you want after a knock to your confidence. Hopefully, they keep it simple and she smashes it.”

A third wrote: “Nikita might as well start writing her exit speech now. If she can’t manage Charleston swivel I fear she’s got no chance on jive kicks and flicks.”
However, Socorro said: “I don’t think anyone is setting her up. She is just timid and heavy-footed in her dancing right. The almost 80-year-old woman dances with less effort than Nikita.”
Upon finding out she was taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, Nikita said it was a “dream come true” and she couldn’t wait to “get glammed up and get out there”.
Will the BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show host manage to dazzle the judging panel when she returns to the dancefloor this weekend?
