Strictlys Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley spark secret wedding claims with wife remark
Podcast host Simon Mundie sent tongues wagging after referring to Stacey Dooley as Kevin Clifton's "now-wife" during a recent episode of his Life Lessons podcast.
Dancer Kevin, 41, and TV presenter Stacey, 36, met back in 2018 when they were paired together on Strictly Come Dancing, with the couple going on to win the series.
They then welcomed their baby daughter Minnie in January, but had shown no signs of tying the knot, with Stacey previously stating that marriage isn't something that's particularly important to her.
The TV star may have changed her mind recently though, with the couple's friend Simon Mundie implying that they may have already said their "I dos."
In a recent episode of his Life Lessons podcast, Simon looked back at a previous interview with Kevin, as he told listeners: "We are half way through Strictly Come Dancing season 2023. So what better time to revisit my conversation with ex glitterball champ and strictly favourite Kevin Cliffton.
"Kev is a lovely bloke and I have two clips from our chat here… The second is about his experience on Strictly, finishing second on numerous occasions before winning with his now wife Stacey Dooley."
However, it's possible that Simon misspoke, as Stacey has previously expressed a lack of interest in getting married, especially after jokingly been given the nickname of Anne of Cleves in reference to Henry VIII's fourth wife, in reference to Kevin's previous three marriages.
Speaking about the pair's relationship, Stacey previously said: "Marriage has just never been massively important to me.
"And also obviously it's very well documented Kev’s done it a couple of times before so you do have to bear that in mind. Coming down the aisle, 'Hello everyone, I know what you're all thinking.'"
She added that marriage has never been something she's "dreamt about".
"I don't subscribe to the idea that you can offer more stability if you're married, because we know that loads of marriages end in divorce," she said.
And while Kevin and Stacey may not have any plans to tie the knot, Kevin has revealed that they have been thinking about welcoming a second child to their family.
He told OK!: "Stacey’s already talking about Minnie needing a brother or a sister. I can see us having more kids if we’re lucky enough and it happens for us, but Minnie is a handful as it is at the moment!
"It’s the idea of them being a little gang and having each other’s backs. Me and my sister are a little gang and have each other’s backs – that’s what we’d like for Minnie."
